Basket weaver at work ArtisanCam features one artist per term and is aimed primarily at Key Stage 2 and 3 pupils and their teachers. You can watch artists live from their studios or working on location as they go about their business. Once live watching is finished, their work is captured in a timelapse video which summarises their activities.

ArtisanCam aims to be simple and easy to use. We aim to keep text to a minimum and you will be guided through the site with instructions such as 'enter here' or 'watch here'. Each featured artist has their own banner heading specific to their activity. Each page has a 'back to homepage' link in the top right hand corner and the ArtisanCam logo returns you to the main homepage.

If you are working in a school you will find lots of ideas across the site to help you deliver a creative curriculum. Each featured artist has sections on Techniques, Influences and a Gallery which give you more information about their work. The Questions section is largely made up of questions submitted by children. Once you have sampled all that, it is time to have a go yourself! Pupils and teachers alike can learn by trying a classroom workshop led by an artist or a virtual activity.

Make sure ArtisanCam is included in your favourites list. As it is constantly changing it is a site you will want to return to again and again. To find out more about ArtisanCam you can subscribe to our free e-newsletter. The e-newsletter is e-mailed out twice a term and includes news of forthcoming artists and new activities which have been added to the site.
You can subscribe by clicking here.

ArtisanCam has been commissioned by Culture Online, part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. ArtisanCam is delivered by a partnership of artistsatwork.org and CLEO (Cumbria and Lancashire Education Online).
