ArtisanCam
wins BAFTA
ArtisanCam won a EA Children's BAFTA Award at a ceremony
hosted by Keith Chegwin in London this week. The Children’s
BAFTA awards recognise achievement excellence in children’s
film, television and online.
Keith Alexander, content director for ArtisanCam said,
“We’re a very small team and it was a huge
achievement just to be nominated for a BAFTA so it is
completely overwhelming to have actually won it. It
was great to accept the award in the Primary Learning
category from West End star Suzanne Shaw. We are still
in a state of shock."
“We set out to create a website, that would inspire
young artists of the future and give teachers the confidence
to be creative in the classroom and hopefully we are
on our way to achieving that goal."

Mandela
comic book artists
To celebrate the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela in
2008 we are featured the comic book artists working
for the South African company Umlando Wezithombe who
recreated the life of Nelson Mandela in comic book form.
We visited South Africa to film the artists drawing
their national hero from child to president. There is
also remarkable footage of the artists drawing Mandela
in the lime quarry on Robben Island where he was a prisoner
for 27 years. Unlike any comic book you have seen before
these talented artists bring history to life.
